As NASA prepares to send astronauts into deep space for extended missions there is a growing concern over how we'll be able to provide enough food for these missions. Sure we can take some food with us, but once we go to the Moon and on to Mars, we won't just be able to send more supplies from Earth when we're running low. The solution it seems is in figuring out how to grow plants in space.
