Are You A Shallow Sleeper?

Technically, we don't experience sleep in the same way as deep or light sleep. Sleep is cyclical, with stages that progress from light to deep sleep, then back to lighter stages and REM sleep [1]. However, there is a concept called "shallow sleep syndrome" which describes getting enough sleep (in terms of duration) but not achieving the restorative, deeper stages [2]. This can leave you feeling tired and unrefreshed in the morning.
