Lane Hutson, a Montreal Canadiens defenseman, made history by breaking the NHL record for most assists by a blueliner in their first 150 games. With 116 assists in 147 games, he surpassed Hall of Famer Sergei Zubovs previous record. Hutsons record-breaking assist came in a win over the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he also set up the opening goal and extended his career-high road point streak to nine games.
