African Americans are 8 percent more likely to live without health insurance than whites. Compared with white persons, black persons and other minorities have lower levels of access to medical care in the United States due to their higher rates of unemployment and under-representation in good-paying jobs that include health insurance as part of the benefit package. How can we fix that? This is the 10th year of open enrollment for Obama Healthcare/Health Marketplace. While there is no more extreme penalty for not having healthcare it is still important for you and your family. Young adults reaching the age of 26 who are not covered under their parents can turn to the Marketplace and don’t forget once you turn 65 you are eligible for coverage through Medicare. Our guests were Anne Packham www.coveringcfl.net 877/564-5031 and Dwight Dale www.soarhealthadvisors.com 407/900-3838. He offers FREE Medicare information sessions at the West Oaks Mall at noon October 20th, 28th, November 5th & 9th NOTE: There are four Federally Qualified Health Centers – Orange Blossom Healthcare [email protected] 407/428-5701 True Health www.mytruehealth.org 407/322-8645
