We spoke with Monique Worrell, State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court. She gave us her background which is in criminal justice. Worrell has had years of experience teaching and practicing law, Mrs. Worrell broke down several tactics used by governing members capable of creating false narratives. Discussed how direct filing youth is like writing children off sending them to adult prison instead of juvenile detention to receive rehabilitation from programs. Statistics reveal dishing kids out to adult prisons reveals that there is a strong chance of reoffending. Worrell revealed that she was the Director of the Conviction integrity unit, which allows prosecutors to “police” the practices of other prosecutors.
