Tarcia Smith, host of the "Adoption Journey" podcast which is coming up on its 100th episode, talked about the trauma of adoption and the need for a support system. Through her podcast she co-founded "Black Adoptees Meetup." It's an organization that curates conversation with black people around the world who have been adopted. They share stories and information to help each other. A group of 8 female educators formed a mentoring group for the young ladies in their school. "Young Girls on the Move" is a 501c-3 organization that gives girls experiences they might not have ever had before - one on one tutoring, etiquette training, counseling, weekend retreats and more. The women saw several young girls in the school struggling with isolation, etc and they developed a safe space for them.
