This morning both Presidents Dr. Larry Robinson from FAMU and Dr. Lawrence Drake from Bethune Cookman including Tony Jenkins the Central Florida Marketing Director invited the spirit of the Classic weekend quickly approaching. The nation’s premier HBCU football rivalry will celebrate its 25th game in Orlando when the Bethune-Cookman University Wildcats meet the Florida A&M University Rattlers in the Florida Blue Florida Classic on November 19th. The Classic Rivalry is rooted in pride – not only for its people, but the legacy the event celebrates. Giving our people the space to convene and be unapologetically who they are. Ms. Karen Johnson, the Executive Director of Florida Impact to End Hunger highlighted a need in our community. Since 1979, Florida Impact to End Hunger has helped community leaders secure more responsive public programs and policies to address hunger. This focus has led to the statewide establishment of the School Breakfast Program during school; and the After-School Meal (AMP) and Summer Food Service (SFSP) programs.
