Fewer than 1 in 5 people with a disability are employed in the USA. This harsh reality compelled our next guests, father-son entrepreneurs - John and Mark Cronin to create John's Crazy Socks. Inspired by John, a young man with down syndrome, and his love of colorful, fun and creative socks, or what he calls his "crazy socks," began their mission to spread happiness to feet everywhere.
Mark is the father of this father-son enterprise. His leadership has demonstrated that pursuing social goals – showing what people with differing abilities can achieve and giving back – makes for good business.
John, Mark, and I jump right into how John's love for crazy socks inspired a mini-empire that turned John into a sock tycoon.
March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day. To celebrate, we encourage everybody to go out and wear their crazy socks. And if you don't have crazy socks, go to johnscrazysocks.com, and buy a pair.
John continues to spread happiness and is giving away some crazy socks to 5 lucky MYSA listeners. Visit: https://go2.money/socks for more details on how to get your free socks.
