Ep 36ModChat 045 - PS4 Pirate Sued, RetroArch Switch/PS2, NES Switch ROM Swaps w/ Modern Vintage Gamer
EMVG returns for another episode of ModChat, this time with even more emulation! We look into the recent release of RetroArch 1.7.5, with this having an official port to Switch as opposed to RetroNX. We also discuss the initial tease of RetroArch coming out on... PS2?! And of course we can't forget Nintendo's official NES emulator on the Switch now getting cracked open to play your own choice of NES games. In terms of Jailbreak news we also look into the PS3 getting an update which patches PS3Xploit on the latest firmware, a PS4 reseller sued for preloading and selling PS4 consoles with pirated games, and even iOS gets some love! Pangu has announced that they've Jailbroken iOS 12 on the iPhone XS, so look forward to Paranoid Coder's thoughts on it with his recent switch from a Pixel 2 to the iPhone XS.
Ep 35ModChat 044 - Switch 6.0.0 Update, Pokémon Essentials Takedown, PS2 Support Dropped
EThis episode has us taking a look at the latest news surrounding the 6.0.0 update for Nintendo Switch, as well as the preparation being done around this update for CFW and other applications in the homebrew community. We check out some new releases, such as SwitchME and a guide dedicated to ReiNX, as well as chime in on a new takedown Nintendo has put through for the RPG Maker toolkit called Pokémon Essentials. Also, PS2 support dropping in... 2018? More on that in the show.
Ep 34ModChat 043 - ROMsites Without ROMs, Fighting PS4 Clickbait, 3DS 11.8 Changes
EIs a ROMsite still a ROMsite without the ROMs? We plan to tackle that in this episode of ModChat when we discuss several ROMsites taking down their collections of downloads with or without the intervention of another company coming into play. We also take a look at the upcoming news Al Azif, known for his awesome ps4-exploit-host program, assembling a blacklist of users the PS4 homebrew community can point newcomers towards and let people know who cannot be trusted in regards to anything newsworthy. Finally, a segment about a 3DS update? Normally this wouldn't be a big deal but it seems 11.8 made a ton of under the hood tweaks, as well as server-side tweaks which seem to backport some of the anti-piracy challenges from the Switch over to the 3DS!
Ep 33ModChat 042 - Switch Bans, SX Brick Code Removed, h-encore on Vita w/ ModernVintageGamer
EWe're joined once again by ModernVintageGamer to discuss even more modding news! Following the long running trend, we do have quite a bit of Nintendo Switch news to cover including bans for modified consoles being detailed, the troublesome battery desync fix people experienced with RCM, back and forth with SX developers and reverse engineers, and new Switches out in the wild which have fixed Fusée Gelée! However we also have a good amount of non-Switch related news as well including TheFloW's release of h-encore for the latest Vita firmware, a new Xbox 360 glitch chip, GDEMU being cloned, and a few other goodies uncovered in older games. Stay tuned!
Ep 32ModChat 041 - Switch Downgrades Possible, LayeredFS Mods, SX Discussion
EAnother episode, another massive delivery and recap of Switch homebrew scene news! Since the last episode we've discovered the Switch can be downgraded to any firmware, despite the eFuse technology we spoke about in previous episodes. We also look into a few teases we've seen such as LayeredFS, emuNAND, title installations, and more! On top of that we also plan to touch up on some good news for 3.68 Vita users, the latest 5.05 PS4 jailbreak being released, as well as discussing initial thoughts people have aired out about Team-Xecuter's SX.
Ep 31ModChat 040 - Fusée Gelée Released, ElDewrito Takedown, and PS4 5.05 News w/ ModernVintageGamer
EWith so much modding news dropping right after ModChat 039, we had to start this list almost immediately after finishing the last episode! Here we take a look at Fusée Gelée being released into the wild on the Switch, and in regards to that we also discuss our thoughts on the Team-Xecuter solution they've been hyping up for months: SX. Along with the news of ElDewrito being taken down, the upcoming PS4 Mira framework for the PS4 5.05 jailbreak, and the FTC now forcing companies to remove warranty stickers from game consoles... Well, this will be a packed episode. Oh, and we also have ModernVintageGamer on here as a guest, so that's cool.
Ep 30ModChat 039 - ReSwitched Save Backups, PS4 Webkit Chip, Retail Games on yuzu Switch Emulator!
EAnother month, another ModChat full of PS4 and Switch modding news! We try to cover whatever we can, but each episode recently has been absolutely full of Switch and PS4 topics simply because of their respective bustling homebrew scenes. One small script, which I myself am particularly excited for, is a game save backup script for the Switch which works with ReSwitched! Something regular listeners know I've been complaining about for months has been the lack of being able to properly backup our own saves on the Switch, but now with the power of homebrew that's possible! This episode also introduces the second PS4 chip we've ever discussed, which is an upcoming chip designed to work hand-in-hand with all of the webkit based exploits available right now. This is similar to the current ESP8266 self-hosting method, except internal to the PS4 and with more robust features planned. We also talk about emulators on here for a bit, one of which being the yazu emulator designed for Switch titles on PC and the fact that we're seeing retail games run on it this early on!
Ep 29ModChat 038 - PS4 HEN 4.55, PS3Xploit v3 HAN, Switch CFW in Progress!
EThis seems to be yet another fruitful month of modding news for PlayStation consoles all around, and the Switch yet again! We touch up on a few custom firmwares now being worked on for the Switch, a new PS4 HEN to come out for firmwares up to 4.55, PS3Xploit being updated, and even come out with a bit of Vita news! Before you get too excited for that last one, be aware that you will still need a Vita on 3.60, still nothing yet for any stock consoles on a higher firmware.
Ep 28ModChat 037 - Switch Homebrew Launcher, PS4 4.05 & PS Vita Roundup!
EMore Switch and PS4 modding updates! We've jokingly thought of calling this NintendoChat with all of the Switch homebrew related news coming out, but that has to be good news for the Switch homebrew scene! Some of the topics we go over in this include: Team-Xecuter's Switch modchip being delayed, a Switch Homebrew Launcher being released, NVIDIA Shield TV getting emulated GameCube/Wii games, and some news for the 3.67 PS Vita firmware!
Ep 27ModChat 036 - Switch Modchip by Team-Xecuter, Switch Homebrew Channel, All the Emulation!
EFirst episode of 2018! Join us as we speculate on the news of a modchip for the Switch by Team-Xecuter, discuss the back and forth announcements between free and paid Switch modification announcements, as well as some exciting announcements in regards to emulation related to the Switch. Wait... It seems like this episode will mostly be Switch related news... Oops.
Ep 26ModChat 035 - Taking Your Questions to Finish Off 2017!
ELast year, for our final episode of 2016 we decided to go into the show with no prepared topics and have it be focused on user questions. We all had quite a bit of fun with that episode and the viewers seemed to enjoy it as well, so we figured we could start making it a yearly tradition! This time with our new host. Join us live to have some fun, ask us questions (whether or not they're focused on modding is up to you), and celebrate one final ModChat stream for 2017!
Ep 25ModChat 034 - PS3Xploit 4.82, PS4 PKG Installs on 5.01, Webpage Cryptomining w kiwidog
EOn this episode of ModChat, we're joined by our guest kiwidog who has been a friend of the show for some time now! kiwidog has been spending a good amount of his free time reverse engineering the PlayStation 4 and can hopefully provide some more insight and clarification on some of the new updates coming out from the modding scene in regards to some of the modding news we tackle on this episode! On top of tackling some PS4 news, we also look into the new announcements and releases from team PS3Xploit in regards to new development on the 4.81 PS3 firmware. In short - there might soon be software only downgraders for the PS3, no longer requiring a hardmod to downgrade and modify the console! As a side topic as well, we also discuss the rise in websites using cryptominers in place of advertisements and what our thoughts are on the matter.
Ep 24ModChat 033 - PS4 4.05 Kexploit Release, ReSwitched Tools, Trying Custom ROMs on Android
EOn this episode of ModChat, the hosts discuss a few new homebrew related releases for the Switch and PlayStation 4. We see Team ReSwitched release several tools for homebrew developers on the Switch, and talk about some new PS4 homebrew news as well. A big one being a Kexploit release for consoles on firmware 4.05, and discussing a demonstration of some upcoming PKG installations shown on firmware 4.55. Still in the realm of modding but a bit of a tangent, we also look into some recent licensing controversy with the upcoming Seedi game console, an emulation machine which plays games directly from a CD! Pair that with some Android OS talk, this sounds like it'll be a fun episode.
Ep 23ModChat 032 - NoNpDRM & Virtual Game Cart for Vita, Retail Games on PS4 1.76
EOn this episode of ModChat, the regular duo of hosts discusses many new recent developments in the PS Vita scene! This includes some leaks related to the Cobra Blackfin device, the release of NoNpDRM, the standardization of the .psv format through the release of Virtual Game Cart, and some rumblings from the PS4 scene! It seemed like this was going to be a Vita/PS4 only episode but we also got some Nintendo related news as well in the form of the Flog NES emulator on Switch, as well as discussing Super Mario 64 Online being taken down.
Ep 22ModChat 031 - smhax Patched, ntrboot Released, and Fried GameCubes!

And hold on.... Fried GameCubes?! Stay tuned.
Ep 21ModChat 030 - PS4 MTX KEY for Gamesharing, Switch Kernel Dumped, Wii U Finally Updated!
EIn this episode of ModChat we tackle several new developments witnessed recently! A big one being the PS4 MTX KEY, which serves as a method of tricking the PS4's account activation method to share games between a seemingly unlimited amount of consoles. ModChat 026 - Nintendo Switch Vulnerabilities, RPCS3 Development, 4K Cemu w/ Paranoid Coder
ESince our previous episode we have a whole new console to play around with: the Nintendo Switch! While many have been busy playing the new Zelda quite a few 3DS, Wii U and even iOS devs have picked up the console and started to rip it apart. A hidden internet browser was found in the OS which led to us seeing some of the first vulnerabilities leftover in the system! We're also seeing some crazy development in the emulation scene, with two mentioned here being RPCS3 (PS3) and Cemu (Wii U). More and more games are playable on RPCS3 while we're also seeing games run in native 4K on Cemu!

EWith recent developments in the modding scene we've been seeing a nice mix of old and new this past month! Coming off last month in which we discussed rumblings of a homebrew version of the original Xbox Live being worked on it seems fitting that we now have the Sega Saturn online utilizing VoIP, being a nice improvement over what has already been out there! Among a few of the PS4 rumors going around we plan to talk a bit about the upcoming save editors coming out, as well as some rumors of development up to firmware 4.50 so far! News of a new system has been floating around as well with a prototype of the RetroBlox showing up at a recent expo, this one being quite an important emulation based console as it is the first one out there to handle CD based games!
ModChat+ 006 - WE'RE LIVE! Resident Evil 7 & 3D Printing
EModChat+ is the spin-off series we occasionally do in conjunction with ModChat in which we talk about whatever we want to... Except modding. This has always been more of a "bonus content" podcast which we do here and there. We have designed ModChat+ to be a series in which people who want to hear more about the hosts personal interests and ramblings can listen to, however if you're only here for ModChat then you're still guaranteed to have that on a monthly basis! This also ranks as the first live episode we've ever done of ModChat+ since all the other episodes were created when the series was in a pre-recorded format.

ModChat 019 - Cobra Blackfin, HENkaku, & Throwback Modifications!
EIn this episode of ModChat - WE'RE LIVE!!!! At least we were live, if you're reading this then that means you're viewing and listening to the completed livestream. We attempted to finally take ModChat live and ended up knocking out two things with that - Livestreaming and facecams! As we have said in multiple episodes: We want your feedback and do take the time out to read and listen to it all, we're just a tad bit slow at implementing. Many people have wanted livestreams but perhaps the most requested addition has been facecams. Unless there is an overwhelming objection to the decision being made, this will most likely be the new format of the show in which we do a livestream of it on YouTube. That livestream will consist of topics we already have but we will also be dedicating a portion of each episode to answering questions in the chat section. Some of the topics we discuss in this one include: Cobra Blackfin for Vita, HENkaku for Vita (and perhaps PS4), Xbox 360 drive flashing, and much more! Of course we're always looking for improvements and constructive criticisms, so if you all have any ideas or topics you would like us to tackle please let us know!
