Show Notes

Since his inauguration just over one month ago, President Trump has signed a series of executive orders and taken other actions to remake and reduce the size of the federal government. And in the process, he’s challenging the checks and balances that are a hallmark of our democracy. Dozens of lawsuits have been filed in the past month challenging some of those executive actions. Federal courts across the country have started to weigh in.

We thought it would be a good idea to go back to basics, with some Government and Constitution 101. And for that, we’re talking to Ben Sheehan, best-selling author of What Does the Constitution Actually Say? A Non-Boring Guide to How Our Democracy Is Supposed to Work

Ben has appeared as a political analyst on Real Time with Bill Maher, Good Morning America and CBS News. He’s host of the upcoming series Civics Made Easy on PBS. Aside from politics, Ben is a former award-winning producer at Funny Or Die.
