This week on The Fighter vs. The Writer — Gilbert Melendez joins the show after sitting ringside to watch his longtime teammate Nate Diaz go to battle with Jake Paul in a 10-round boxing match this past weekend.
While Diaz ultimately lost a unanimous decision, Melendez praises the ex-UFC fighter for his performance while revealing what went right, what went wrong and injury that actually changed the strategy in the fight against Paul.
Melendez also addresses Paul’s challenge for a rematch against Diaz in MMA and how that just wouldn’t be a fair fight for the social influencer turned boxing.
Melendez will also discuss Nick Diaz potentially returning for a boxing match of his own and the chances that “El Nino” puts on the gloves again for another fight in the future.
