Show Notes
Developmental arrest isn't about intelligence or emotions.
In this episode, I explain why it is better understood as hesitation, a waiting state, and a meaningful part of evolution via a constellation of two (or more) temporal lobe conflicts in the cerebral cortex.
I also discuss:
- why childish "appeal to authority" logic can distort understanding in Germanic New Medicine
- why two people in the same traumatic situation usually create different conflicts (or no conflict at all)
-
why developmental arrest is about waiting, not stupidity
-
how to help yourself or someone else understand what you're waiting for when your in developmental arrest
-
why growth is very rapid once those conflicts begin to resolve
-
the special abilities that have been developing during that waiting period
If you or someone you love seems developmentally stuck in a certain area of life, this episode offers a different way to think about that state: not as pointless failure, but as meaningful delay with evolutionary purpose.
