Retired, USMC First Lieutenant Patrick Cleburne McClary, III. Patrick “Clebe” McClary served as a platoon leader in the First Reconnaissance Battalion during Vietnam. After his unit was attacked by the Viet Cong, Clebe was seriously wounded, losing his left arm and left eye, yet he continued to lead his men. For his heroism and service, First Lieutenant Patrick Cleburne McClary received The Silver Star, The Bronze Star, Three Purple Hearts, The George Washington Medal of Freedom, and The American Legion Award to name a few.
