King Darius had in mind to appoint Daniel as the chief administrator of the Persian Empire. The other administrators and satraps were jealous of Daniel. Tricking King Darius, the administrators and satraps got him to agree to a law to have anyone who worshipped anyone besides the king to be put to death.
