After the Persian Wars, Xerxes returned to Susa. Soonafter, he divorces his wife and he issues a decree to find a new wife. The result was Esther, a Jew, becoming Queen of Persia. Unaware of her heritage, Haman, the Grande Vizer, devises a plan to conduct a genocide of the Jewish people. Esther conducts a fast and prepares to confront the king.
