Isaac and Rebekah have twins - Esau and Jacob. Isaac favors Esau and Rebekah favors Jacob resulting in a competition for the family blessing. Jacob deceives his brother to obtain the family birthright. Esau forfeits his blessing for lentil soup. In revenge, Esau threatens to kill his brother. Jacob runs to Haran and falls in love with Rachel, but the deceiver receives his due.
