Ismail Hamed, a 25-year-old man, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and making a terroristic threat, six years after being shot by a Maricopa County deputy. Hamed, then 18, called 911 and threatened to be an ISIS member, leading to a confrontation where he was shot. After receiving medical treatment, Hamed has since sought mental health help, completed high school, and is pursuing a bachelors degree. He faces two to nine years in prison and is set for sentencing on May 19th.
