Major General Antonio Aguto, a retired U.S. Army officer, has been accused of mishandling classified documents and excessive drinking during a military event. He was in charge of the Security Assistance Group-Ukraine until August 2024. Aguto left behind classified maps on a train to Germany, which were found by a Ukrainian worker and handed over to the U.S. Embassy. He was also reported to have consumed alcohol excessively during a trip to Ukraine, leading to a concussion and disheveled appearance during a key meeting with U.S. and Ukrainian officials.
