Senator Ruben Gallego introduced an amendment to study treatments like MDMA, ibogaine, ketamine, and psilocybin mushrooms. A clinical trial in Scottsdale, Arizona, is using whole psilocybin mushrooms to treat trauma in first responders and former service members. Initial results are expected this spring, with hopes of boosting access to these therapies and addressing the mental health crisis.
