Show Notes
The U.S. Army has received its first autonomous Black Hawk helicopter, a next-gen UH-sixty-MX model by Lockheed Martins Sikorsky team. This helicopter, equipped with MATRIX autonomy suite, can fly with or without a pilot, handling takeoff, navigation, landing, and obstacle avoidance. Its a significant step towards modernizing the military fleet and reducing risks to soldiers. The technology, developed through a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency program, has already logged hundreds of test flight hours and could pave the way for autonomy kits across the entire Black Hawk lineup.
