Show Notes
In this On the Move, hosts Matt Avery and John Kraman have their mind on Modena, dedicating the full show to unpacking the mystique of the Ferrari experience. Before jumping on the talk of the prancing horse, they detail what the Mecum Auction schedule looks like, detailing the upcoming Spring events. With the next event being the Glendale, Arizona, auction, both guys share recent consignments that have caught their eye. Matt is smitten with a 1958 Edsel Bermuda station wagon, digging the two-tone paint and boomerang taillights. John is thinking muscle, liking a 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 convertible, just 1 of 96 produced that year equipped with a 4-speed transmission. Keeping the theme on muscle going, the conversation transitions to car news and talk of the soon to be released performance-oriented SUVs. Then its on to dialogue about the industry’s continued big push towards electric powertrains. Matt and John each weigh in on ramifications – both short and long term.
In Segment 2, the guys are joined by Steve Todhunter, whose vehicles are part of a Main Attraction coming to Glendale auction. Included is a stellar collection of Ferraris including everything from a 1992 512 TR to a 2018 812 Superfast. Steve shares from his many years of experience of collecting and enjoying the exotic supercars and details specific aspects like what they’re like to drive.
Then in Segment 3, Matt and John chat with Steve Matchett, TV personality and author of ‘Always Ferrari’. Steve weighs in on his thoughts on the world of Ferrari including how the brand focused on racing to become known the world over.
