Show Notes

Hosts Matt Avery and John Kraman are thinking Spring in this On the Move, launching right into a discussion on the Mecum Auctions schedule for the upcoming months. Then, it’s on to talk of the latest Mecum Magazine. Matt penned a big feature looking at the top five most expensive classic Mustangs to be sold at Mecum, as well as covering the 2021 Jaguar F-Type Heritage 60 Edition his 'Free Revs' column. This modern sportster celebrates the 60th anniversary of the iconic E-Type. Only 60 of the new Jaguar will be built, each of which will be cloaked in a special Sherwood Green, an E-Type paint color from the 1960s. In his latest At the Redline column, John talked about his fascination with Chevrolet’s sports car darling, the Corvette, and how his love as a young child has come full circle with him buying several iterations, including the latest C8. Next for the guys is a quick look at the 2022 Nissan Frontier, a pickup long in need of a redesign. Matt runs downs the specs while John kicks the truck talk up a notch, moving to the latest news of the 2021 Ford F150 Raptor. The guys weigh in on how it’ll stack up against the current dino-truck king of the hill: the Ram 1500 TRX. In the second segment, Matt and John are on the road and on the move, setting up shop at Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing in Ocala, Florida. Joining them is "Big Daddy" Don himself for a special conversation about his many years of competition, how he’s seen the sport of competitive racing evolve and his plans to take electric race cars to the limit. Rounding out the episode, Mecum Auctions On-Air Commentator Bill Stephens is on the line to carry the racing talk even further. The trio discuss how straight-line competition during the 1960s influenced automakers, ultimately driving them to make streetable muscle machines like the iconic Pontiac GTO and Chevrolet Chevelle Z16.
