In this On the Move, hosts Matt Avery and John Kraman are saying "Viva, Las Vegas!" as they focus on the upcoming Mecum Las Vegas auction slated for November 13-14. First, they reveal what lots are catching their eyes, with Matt hot for a hauler, a 1957 Chevrolet Cameo Pickup, while John is enamoured by one of his teenage dreams, a 1974 Pontiac Trans Am Super Duty. Next, Matt shares some electrifying car news, detailing Chevrolet Performance’s eCrate package. The kit, set to be available in the second half of 2021, contains most of the electric components from the Bolt EV and would allow customers to upfit a wide array of Chevrolet vehicles with plug-in powertrains. Matt and John share their thoughts on whether this kind of technology will resonate with enthusiasts. John keeps the buzz going, giving an update from Porsche regarding its electric future before wrapping up the segment with some thoughts of recent time behind the wheel of Chrysler’s 300 sedan.
Dropping the puck on Segment 2, the guys are joined by three-time Stanley Cup Winner Marc-Andre Fleury, goalie for the Vegas Golden Knights, who is bringing a custom Chevelle creation to the Las Vegas auction. Matt and John find out more about the droptop’s story, as well as Marc’s other automotive interests, and take some time to discuss the general car culture in the NHL with Marc.
Then, in Segment 3, Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority Chief Operating Officer Brian Yost calls in to the show. Brian details the high excitement in the "Entertainment Capital of the World" for the return of live entertainment to the convention center with Mecum’s annual auction. He also fills Matt and John in on some recent updates to the facility, including the progress of underground transportation tunnels that will use Tesla vehicles to move guests between the halls.
