Most parents tell their children – Always tell the truth. If you’ve done nothing wrong, you’ve got nothing to hide or worry about. So does the right to silence law actually hide the truth and mean that people can get away with murder?
The rights of victims to justice and the urgent need for offenders to be held accountable far outweighs the right to silence and other privileges that families may seek to use to mask their guilt or involvement.
