In this episode, we speak to Arsalan Khan, an impressive young entrepreneur building his business in the agency space, alongside his more recent venture into scaling his own ecom brand.
We discuss how he got started, from growing up in a normal middle-class family in the UK, going to uni to study medicine with hopes of becoming a doctor, to eventually finding early success with his first social media agency clients while he was still studying. He explains how he started slow and built up gradually, with an initial focus on the physical business & restaurant niche - before finding greater opportunities working with ecom brands who wanted to scale up online.
We dive into the challenges of team building, how the SMMA space has become flooded with poor quality competition, and how building his own clothing brand over the past year has made him a much better agency owner - while also allowing him to fulfill his creative desires. As well as business, we explore the power of building a great network, changing your relationship with money, and the unique difficulties faced by entrepreneurs throughout the world of dating & relationships.
