Show Notes

The omission of veteran prop Owen Franks and the inclusion of young Chiefs looseforward Luke Jacobson are key the features of the 31 strong All Blacks squad named for the Rugby World Cup.

The 108 test capped Franks has been omitted, with young Chiefs loosehead Atu Moli included, with Nepo Laulala now rated the number one tighthead.

Jacobson has been named among five looseforwards beating out the likes of Jackson Hemopo and Vaea Fifita.

Liam Squire hasn't been included, but has made himself available should the side suffer injuries during their campaign.

Injured lock Brodie Retallick has been named but won't be available before the knockout rounds at the earliest.

All Blacks Coach Steve Hansen told Simon and Phil telling players they’ve missed out on selection is incredibly tough.
