Since the beginning of the Delta outbreak there have been long queues in various areas for covid tests and yesterday a record 50,000 Covid-19 tests were processed.
Richard Prebble in the New Zealand Herald suggested the alternative of rapid DIY Covid tests being brought into New Zealand to get people self-testing.
But Vaccinologist Helen Petousis Harris is sceptical of whether this solution would work, saying they will likely have a place in the future but not right now.
