Revelations today that former All Blacks prop Hayman has been diagnosed with early-onset dementia and probable CTE, aged just 41.
In a statement, New Zealand Rugby CEO Mark Robinson has offered his thoughts saying Hayman wore the black jersey with distinction.
Robinson stressed the importance of player safety and wellbeing as NZR's number one priority, and their desire to continue contributing to world-leading policies and research on concussion.
Robinson and Hayman played together in the All Blacks set-up in the early 2000's.
