By trusting in the strength and grace of Christ that is flowing through us, we are delivered from having to trust in our own ability in our life with the Father. Zerubabbel learned this lesson while he was working on the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem, together with the returning exiles. Through the prophetic ministry of Zechariah and Haggai, he learned that the work would not be accomplished through human power or might, but by the Spirit of the Lord. There are few things that ruins and defiles our life with Christ as much as when we live under the burden of guilt and condemnation. Joshua, the high priest, experienced the truth in this when he was in the middle of rebuilding the temple together with the returning exiles from Babylon. Through the prophetic ministry of Zechariah and Haggia, Jesus delivered Him from Satan's accusations and the condemnation that had tormented him. We receive encouragement and comforting love that overflows through our relationship with Jesus Christ. This love transforms our internal culture so that all the divine expressions of love grows in our lives. Through this transformation Jesus will shine forth through our lives more and more. We are more than overcomers through Him who loves us. Jesus gave very specific promises to those who overcomes, but we will never be able to overcome in our own strength. Instead, we overcome by resting in the love of Christ. It is by keeping an open heart and receiving His love that an overcoming lifestyle grows as a fruit! The love of the Father is our safe place of shelter, where we find true healing and full restoration. He invites both the sons and daughters who have been broken by a life in sin, as well as those who have been damaged by religion and legalism to come back home and find restoration in His love through Christ. The love of the Father is incredibly patient, gentle and kind. He will never give up on us, but will keep on working with us until we are conformed into the image of Jesus. Love builds up the structure of our inner life and when divine love manifests, the character of the Father is revealed. In the book of Revelation, Jesus encouraged the church in Efesus to return to their first love. A lot of o people have made the assumption that doing so means striving to love God more, but the truth is that the first love always comes from the Father. We can only love Him, because He first loved us. Our part is to receive His self-giving love with an open heart. In other words, returning to our first love means to constantly be receiving the love of the Father with an open heart. Being filled with the Holy Spirit is to be filled and baptized in the love of God. A huge part of the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to fill our hearts with the love of the Father. The love of God is described as the flame of the Lord. It is a burning fire that burns away bondages and heals the broken heart. Being baptized in the Holy Spirit and fire is to be baptized and soaked in the burning love of Jesus Christ! As Jesus Christ is, so are we in this world. The Father declared over Jesus: "This is my beloved Son. In Him I am well-pleased"! This is what our Father speaks over you and me as well. He loves us more than we could even begin to understand, but we can always grow in our revelation and experience of His love. No matter what happens in our lives or what we are going through, we are still our Father's beloved sons and daughters. We find our identity, life and purpose in being loved by our Father. We are deeply loved by Christ. As our revelation of His love for us grows, our identity will be more and more defined by His love. John, the apostle, is our example when it comes to live defined by the love of Christ. Even though John was one of the twelve apostles, one of the authors of the New Testament and operated in a powerful prophetiv ministry, he refers to himself as the disciple whom Jesus loves. In the same way, we find our identity and purpose in being loved by Jesus, because we truly are the disciples whom He loves! In the New Covenant, we have been given an ever increasing faith. This has happened because Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. He now shares His faith with us and because of this, lack of faith is never our problem anymore. We simply need more revelation of the Father's love and the finished work of Christ. Faith is not a religious work or positive self-talk. It is simply a manifestation of the life of Christ through us! Brokenness and humility is the way forward in the Kingdom of God. Our royal dignity as the Father's sons and daughters is meant to be revealed through our humility. God leads us through seasons of brokenness to conform us into the image of Christ. That will lead ro humility. When we humble ourselves before the Father, He will lift us up and reward us greatly and richly! We have been ordained by the Father as ministers of the New Covenant. The only credentials we need is that we are doing what we see the Father doing, by allowing Jesus to express His life through us. Religion always build hierachal and formal authority, but in the Kingdom of God, only relational authority expressed through self-giving love works. This is how the children of God is partnering with Christ to spread the love of the Father! In the New Covenant, all ministry is about Jesus revealing and expressing His life through us. We no longer live for Christ. Instead, He now lives His life through us. Our calling is to allow Jesus to be everything that He wants to be and express through us. We never have to wonder about our calling... we just need to let the life of Christ flow through us! Jesus walked in the power of the Holy Spirit and demonstrated what it looks like when a fully mature son of God walks in his inheritance. Jesus became like us, to make us like Him. This means that we are now our Father's beloved children. He is well-pleased with us and He pours His favor over us. This is the foundation for our sonship. When we embrace this reality, we can start to manifest our inheritance as sons and daughters. However, the way to the full manifestation of the Father's promises will bring us through trials in the wilderness.
