In that speech Putin reiterated the point that ''The economy of imaginary wealth is being inevitably replaced by the economy of real and hard assets''. With all of the problems Europe has faced this year, particularly surrounding energy prices before they head in to winter, Alfonso breaks down Putin's strategy as he aims to bring Europe to its knees.
