Show Notes
“Because the goal isn't to control your child, it's to truly know them. And when a child feels understood at their core, their behavior naturally starts to regulate itself.” --Angela
In this episode, listeners will learn:
- How to spot your child’s wiring with curiosity.
- How to respond instead of react.
- How to parent the child you have, not the one you imagined.
- How to build connection through understanding, not control.
In this episode, I’m pulling back the curtain on how to use the Enneagram with your kids in a way that’s healthy, respectful, and truly supportive. I share why kids can’t be accurately typed by tests yet, how their personalities are still forming, and why your job isn’t to assign them a number, rather it’s to observe, stay curious, and listen beneath the behavior. When we use the Enneagram well, it becomes a translator that reveals our children’s emotional wiring, their fears, their motivations, and the needs they don’t quite have words for yet.
My goal through this series is to help you parent with more compassion and less pressure. You’ll learn how to look beneath meltdowns, shutdowns, or “big reactions” and ask the real question: What is my child trying to protect right now? When you begin to see your child through that compassionate lens, everything softens... the power struggles, the frustration, the confusion. This episode sets the foundation for the full Enneagram Parenting series, and I’m so excited to walk through it with you.
