Show Notes
ConnectRx, a maternal child health program in Dane County, Wisconsin, is dedicated to supporting Black mothers and babies. Launched in 2022, it addresses social health needs and collaborates with doulas and local hospitals. The program aims to increase healthy birth rates and reduce infant and maternal deaths among Black families. Referrals are triaged and connected to community health workers within 24-72 hours, providing personalized support, including stress relief, peer support, and resource linking. The team tackles systemic racism in healthcare, empowering moms to advocate for their birth desires and cope with pregnancy stress. Since its inception, ConnectRx has served families leading to 575 babies born, all reaching their first birthday. The program welcomes moms from all backgrounds and encourages Black mothers in Dane County to reach out.
