Today we’re talking with Treg Sherman from Urbn Timber. Treg is part of a 3 man team that launched Urbn Timber as a local lumber supplier in Columbus Ohio. They saw an opportunity to salvage local lumber and serve their community at the same time. We talk with Treg about the struggles of starting and scaling a new business and the benefits of hiring both experienced and inexperienced people.
Starting out with a small little shop, in just 3 years Urbn Timber has grown to a 10k square foot facility with 5 shop contributors not just in the woodshop, but with custom metal work, social media, and their website. With a brand new online store, and an Instagram following of over 43k people URBN Timber is on the rise and also jumping onto YouTube. This interview has lots of tactical insights and was a ton of fun.
