This week we’re talking with another artist turned woodworker. Ashley Harwood started off as a graduate from Carnegie Mellon university and an installation artist, but soon found her way into woodturning to make some extra money. She started off in the farmer’s market and craft fair scene selling products. As a way to stand out at the farmer’s market she started demoing turning at her booth. From there she found her love for teaching, a couple great mentors, and has become a world renowned woodturning teacher herself. Kevin O’Connor has been the host of This Old House and Ask This Old House since 2003 and has helped guide many aspiring DIYers and woodworkers, including myself, through home repairs, construction, and remodeling projects with the help of Norm, Tommy, Richard, and Roger, the trades experts on the show.
