Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly is planning to extend free contraception scheme to 16-year-old girls, even though the current age of consent is 17. The change is set to come into effect from 1 September 2023. With the legal age for accessing free contraception being lowered, should we also be looking at lowering the age of consent?
