Dr. George William Jury, a revered veterinarian, passed away at 89. He ran a Lubbock clinic for decades, focusing on dogs and cats. After graduating from Missouris veterinary school in 1962, he practiced for 62 years before retiring. Born in Borger, Texas, he met his wife Pat in 1956, married in 1958, and raised three kids. He was deeply involved in his church, Monterey Baptist, since 1964, and served as Texas Veterinary Medical Association president in 1986. Outside medicine, he was an avid runner, setting 30 age-group records, and loved nature, birdwatching, and native plant gardening. Hes survived by Pat, two sons, a daughter, and a grandson. Donations can be made to Christian Veterinary Mission or South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation.
