Alongside her husband Alfred, she owned and operated the nations first African American husband-and-wife pharmacy, serving the East Lubbock community for nearly fifty years. Known for their compassion, they provided essential medicine to those in need, even when payments were delayed. Their pharmacy closed in 2009, but the building now houses the Caviel Museum, preserving her legacy and inspiring the community she loved.
