We all know our world is increasing in cynicism, and sometimes people say they are proud to be a cynic. Temporarily it may be okay to be a cynic to avoid being deceived. However, in this episode we will discuss how cynicism is toxic and how it has a dangerous impact on our health. Ruth Litter is a Life & Wellness Coach, HeartMath Certified Trainer, and Registered Nurse. She will share some toxic effects of cynicism including depression, anxiety, and heart disease. In addition, she will discuss how it destroys relationships by reducing intimacy and trust and increases loneliness. Knowing how damaging cynicism is, it is crucial to identify the warning signs in ourselves, root cause, and how to safeguard ourselves and families. Ruth will offer the following strategies: Move from cynicism to skepticism which is a healthier alternative to avoid being gullible and accepting everything as fact; Elevate your thoughts and emotions to improve wellbeing and relationships; Access your intuition with a HeartMath Freeze Frame technique for better decision making.
