Healthcare is a 24/7 Industry. Healthcare professionals are suffering from burnout and compassion fatigue at record rates. It is important, now more than ever before, that we educate and encourage our healthcare professionals about the signs and symptoms of burnout and compassion fatigue, as well as give them tools to cope with work related stress. In this episode, Sondra and Hillary will share information about work they, and others, are doing at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) to empower and support patient, caregiver, family, employee and student well-being. UMMC is the state's only academic medical center and the largest employer with more than 10,000 employees and nearly 3,000 students. These employees and students serve hundreds of thousands of patients annually in the hospitals, emergency rooms, and outpatient clinics.
