Long Beach Veteran Banner Program Nominations Open: Honor Local Heroes with Banners Across the City
The Long Beach Veteran Banner Program is now accepting nominations for up to sixty-five local veterans to be honored with banners displayed throughout the city for a full year starting this summer. The program, a collaboration between the Health and Human Services Departments Office of Veterans Support and the Long Beach Veterans Commission, is made possible by a one-time funding boost in the fiscal year twenty twenty-six budget. Last year, sixty-five veterans were honored, highlighting their service and the citys naval heritage. Any honorably discharged veteran with ties to Long Beach, such as birth, work, residence, schooling, or military service, is eligible. Nominations must be submitted by April fifteenth through the online form at longbeach.gov/vetsbanner. The commission reviews nominations anonymously and notifies selected veterans by May. Nominate a deserving veteran today and celebrate their contributions to the community.
