Millikan High Schools girls soccer team, the Rams, have made history by reaching the CIF Southern Section Division two championship for the first time. With an impressive record of eighteen wins, four losses, and one tie, theyve dominated the playoffs with four straight shutouts. Key players like junior forward Alexandra Rios and junior goalkeeper Samantha Ortiz have been instrumental. The Rams defense, led by seniors Savannah Galvan, Giselle Fang, London Perez, and sophomore Jayla Cortes, has been unbeatable, fueling ten straight clean sheets. Their opponent, Ayala, has also posted four consecutive shutouts in the playoffs. Coach Tino Nunez, a Millikan alum and former pro player, has led the team since 2013, building a powerhouse thats gone twelve and zero in league play this year. The championship final kicks off Saturday at ten thirty a.m. at Veterans Stadium in Long Beach.
