Show Notes
Thirty-six-year-old Antonio Lamar Bland from North Hollywood received a sixteen-year and seven-month sentence for a series of armed robberies targeting various businesses in Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Orange County. He pleaded guilty to interfering with commerce through robbery and brandishing a firearm during a violent crime. Bland and his accomplices hit a dozen businesses, including smoke shops, donut shops, and convenience stores, mostly at night. The robberies ended in a failed attempt at a donut shop in Downey, where an employee fired back in self-defense. Bland must pay $17,829 in restitution to the victims. His two co-defendants have pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing.
