Is Arizona State Sun Devils football's quarterback room ready for a daunting 2024 season?

With the offseason in full effect for Arizona State Sun Devils football, we begin our position preview series where we overview each position group on the roster and give takes on how it looks, a potential depth chart, and upside/downsides for the unit. We kick things off with the most important position in sports -- quarterback. It's no secret that Arizona State Sun Devils football has struggled to find quality production at the position for several years now. The room for 2024 has several question marks, including a new face of the program in transfer Sam Leavitt. While Leavitt is every bit as talented (in theory) as Jaden Rashada was before his transfer out of Arizona State, there is equally every bit of uncertainty with just four games under his belt. Trenton Bourguet provides a veteran presence as a leader and backup, but has his play given us enough assurance for a situation where he has to play? Transfer Jeff Sims will also provide depth and versatility, but he's had his struggles in his career. The upcoming schedule won't be kind for these guys, but if they play well enough, the Sun Devils may get their first winning season since 2021.
