How complicated is the path to the Big 12 Championship game for Arizona State Sun Devils football?

When we entered the offseason and previewed Arizona State Sun Devils football's debut into the Big 12 Conference, the expectations were about as low as you'd think they could be. It was back-to-back three-win seasons and only the second year of the Kenny Dillingham era. It looked like a gigantic rebuild, so naturally, the Sun Devils were expected to be terrible, to be frank. The media poll picked Arizona State Sun Devils football to finish dead last in the Big 12 Conference and that was the end of the conversation. But apparently, someone forgot to tell Dillingham and his Sun Devils of this prediction because the program is 7-2 with three games left in the regular season. The Sun Devils are going to the postseason, and it will likely be a good bowl game, but now Arizona State has a chance to appear in the Big 12 Conference Championship Game. To get there, the Sun Devils need a little bit of help and luck, but they have a massive say in their chances. The pressure to win out the last three games is on with it being a necessity to get that far. With one or two other factors playing into their favor, Arizona State Sun Devils football could own tiebreakers and head to Dallas to square off with whoever to win the Big 12 Conference and thus advance to the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff. But how realistic is all of this?
