Defense makes DOMINANT statement on day one of Arizona State Sun Devils spring ball - One-On-Ones...
Day one of spring football for the Arizona State Sun Devils is in the books, and the defense made an early statement for observers! The boys are back and dialed in for what Kenny Dillingham said was their best, first spring practice in his third-year with the program. Sam Leavitt and Jordyn Tyson look as connected as they were last season, with Tyson looking better than 100% after a late-season injury that prematurely ended his outstanding year. The running back competition is stout, but the tight end might be the position to watch. Transfer Khamari Anderson was a standout as a whole, and freshman AJ Ia looks like he could bench press a train. And then we had the defense, which had quite the day -- especially on the backend. The cornerback room is going to be great, and youngsters like Rodney Bimage Jr are building off their redshirt seasons. Bimage was also a standout last season, and we may be in for a big-time breakout in year two. One-on-one battles were the highlight of the day, but the defensive backs came away with more wins.
