On today's episode of Locked On Stars, Joey Erickson breaks down the Dallas Stars 6-4 loss against the Columbus Blue Jackets in a disappointing finish to their road trip. We focus on the Stars defense that is awful and had a rough night in Columbus without Lian Bichsel who was injured in the last game. The overall defensive structure for the Stars was loose and it maybe very difficult for the Stars to find answers with their current personnel. Joey believes the Stars need to seriously consider giving up some young assets to acquire at least one but possibly two defenders that can allow Dallas to go and take the Western Conference this season. With Bichsel in concussion protocol it shows just how fragile this Stars team is and one more injury could send them into a tail spin. The Dallas Stars' five-game win streak was snapped with a 2-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks took an early lead in the first period, with Cutter Gauthier scoring a wrist shot. Dallas fought back in the third with a goal from Colin Blackwell, but Anaheim responded quickly, regaining the lead through Trevor Zegras. The Stars also lost defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin in the second period after he left with an injury and did not return. Despite pulling their goalie in the final moments, Dallas couldn't find an equalizer. John Gibson was solid in net for the Ducks, securing the win.
