PHILLIES POSTCAST: Phillies fall to the Nationals, 5-1
The Philadelphia Phillies take their first loss of the season losing to the Washington Nationals 5-1. Nola gives up two homers, Phillies bats go 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position. Segment 1: Player of the game: Mitchell Parker kept the Phillies off balance just enough over his 6.Iip. He allowed 7 hits and issued two walks, but kept the Phils quiet with runners in scoring position. Turning Point: Josh Bell’s 3-run homer was the big swing off Nola, but the Phillies really had the air out of the balloon in the 7th, when they loaded the bases with one out and Alec Bohm jumped on a first pitch sinker and grounded into a 5-4-3 double play. Segment 2: What you'll be talking about tomorrow: Nola giving up the long ball AGAIN and the Phillies going 0-9 w RISP.

The Philadelphia Phillies take their first loss of the season losing to the Washington Nationals 5-1.
Aaron Nola got off to a dominant start for the first 3 innings of his 2025 season but unfortunately the Nationals were able to get to him in the 4th inning. Josh Bell hit a three-run homer off the Phillies’ righty to give the Nats a 3-0 lead. Washington struck again in the 6th inning this time with a 2-run home run courtesy of Nathaniel Lowe.
The Phillies’ bats didn't do much to back up their starting pitcher as they went 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position. They even loading the bases in the 7th and 9th innings, but their only run came on a base-loaded ground out by Rafael Marchan in the 9th.
Phillies hosts the Rockies in their home opener Monday afternoon at Citizens Bank park at 3:05 Christopher Sanchez gets the start.
