PHILLIES POSTCAST: Phillies fall to Nationals, 4-2
Thanks to a rough 6th inning the Philadelphia Phillies failed to compete the sweep of the Nationals, dropping game three, 4-2. Segment 1: THREE BIG THINGS: Nick Castellanos is still slow as anything! Especially when he grounds into a slow developing 5-4-3 around the horn double play to end a threat in the 8th. 2) Bryce Harper picked a horrible time to record his first error of the season. 3) Actually feel bad for Taijuan Walker who picked his butt off! Segment 2: Player of the Game: Trea Turner with another three-hit day. Turning Point: The 6th Inning! Also, when Kepler, Bohm and Casty had chances in the 6th and 8th innings respectively and came away with nothing in a two-run game. What You’ll be talking about tomorrow? Thanks to a rough 6th inning the Philadelphia Phillies failed to compete the sweep of the Nationals, dropping game three, 4-2.
Taijuan Walker started for the Phillies and gutted out 5.2 innings allowed just one earned run, but four runs total. A Bryce Harper error in the 6th lead to a four-run inning for the Nats.
Walker started the game by making a miraculous play, shoveling a grounder with his mitt to Bryce Harper in the first inning to get C.J. Abrams out.
Alec Bohm got the Phillies on the board first with an RBI single to right to bring home Max Kepler in the 5th. Them they plated their second run in the 6th with an RBI infield single by Nick Castellanos.
The Phillies had chances to come up with more offense in the 6th with runners on first and third with one out, but Max Kepler and Alec Bohm both went down on strikes to end the threat. Then In the 8th, the Phillies had runners on first and second with one out, but Castellanos grounded into a 5-4-3 double play.
