The Panthers will have to be cap compliant when Tkachuk returns, but how do they maneuver? Bill Zito has a decision to make on Aleksander Barkov come the trade deadline, and that's also when Jonah Gadjovich and Dmitry Kulikov are expected to return, there will be more roster surgery necessary when the time comes? Will the Panthers make the tough decision to place Barkov on season-ending IR and give themselves a chance to be buyers while lowering their ceiling? Or prevent themselves from closing the door and give the captain a chance to return while still being in a squeeze of putting a cap compliant roster on a possible playoff game day?
