The New York Jets season is, finally, over. They were blown out at the hands of their division rival, the Buffalo Bills, by a final of 35-8. With the loss, the Jets secured the second overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft and now plenty of time will be devoted to what they may or may not do with that selection in April. It's not much of a surprise that the New York Jets lost to the New England Patriots, it's more about what it looked like in the 42-10 loss on Sunday. The New York Jets offense did a whole lot of nothing in a 29-6 loss against the New Orleans Saints. It was the second straight start for Jets QB Brady Cook, who the team said they wanted to continue to evaluate. Well, they couldn't have liked what they saw. Cook was sacked eight times and committed two turnovers. As a team, it was a day of just 195 yards of total offense for New York. On the other side of the ball, a much better effort was shown early. New defensive coordinator Chris Harris had that side of the ball playing at a much better level in the opening stages, which included a turnover created on the Saints first drive of the game. But, in a theme for the Jets over the last couple of years, the offensive struggles put too much on the defense's plate and the 29 points scored by the Saints were just too much for today. The New York Jets got off to a terrible start, and dug themselves too big of a hole. Down 21-0 in a flash, the Jets weren't able to mount much of anything on offense and fell to the Miami Dolphins, 34-10. A horrific start from the Jets defense allowed the Dolphins to jump out to a 21-0 lead early in the 1st quarter. After that, the defense buckled down and started to give the offense a shot but it was a case of too little, too late. Offensively, the Jets didn't score a single TD (their one TD came via special teams and Isaiah Williams) and an early injury to Tyrod Taylor forced UDFA QB Brady Cook into action. The New York Jets walked into Baltimore as massive road underdogs, and they had chances to pull off an upset. Instead, it was a 23-10 loss. Tyrod Taylor led the Jets offense today, and had them out in front heading into the locker room at halftime. The second half was a much different story. Defensively, the Jets couldn't keep up their play from the first half. Late in the 4th quarter, with a chance to cut the lead to as little as 3, the Jets were driving but a Breece Hall fumble inside the five ended that drive and any chances for the Jets to get back in the game.
